A Wedding Close to Our Hearts at Broome Park Hotel

There are some weddings that stay with you a little longer than others.

As wedding photographers, Joel and I are incredibly privileged to be invited to share one of the most important days in a couple’s lives. But every now and then, a wedding comes along that feels just that little bit different.

This time, the bride was my cousin, Angela.

Photographing a family wedding is a unique experience. It meant I could spend the day enjoying precious time with relatives I don’t see nearly often enough, while at the same time seeing Joel do what he does best behind the camera. It also gave me the chance to watch him through completely different eyes.

A Different Perspective

Normally I’m busy running the business behind the scenes, helping couples prepare for their day or making sure everything afterwards runs smoothly.

This time, I was simply there to enjoy the celebrations with my family.

Well… almost!

Every now and then Joel needed an extra pair of hands, so I found myself helping by holding one of his lights steady during a few portraits… all whilst balancing in my four-inch heels! It certainly wasn’t the role I’d expected when I got dressed that morning.

But standing back and watching Joel work reminded me of something I perhaps take for granted.

Even after all these years, I’m still amazed at how naturally he puts people at ease. He isn’t simply there to take photographs — he becomes part of the day. Guests quickly warm to him, couples relax completely, and somehow he manages to capture genuine moments without ever making anyone feel they’re constantly in front of the camera.

Watching him through the eyes of family made me incredibly proud.

A Beautiful Wedding at Broome Park Hotel

Angela and John’s wedding took place at the beautiful Broome Park Hotel near Canterbury, a stunning country house venue surrounded by elegant gardens and beautiful grounds.

It was the perfect setting for timeless wedding portraits while also allowing Joel to capture the relaxed, natural moments that tell the real story of a wedding day.

From the excitement of the morning preparations to the laughter during the celebrations, every part of the day reflected exactly who Angela and John are as a couple. It was a day full of warmth, happiness and the people who matter most.

The Joy of Delivering the Photographs

One of the most rewarding parts of our job comes after the wedding day itself.

Once every image has been carefully selected and professionally edited, we finally reach the point where we can deliver a couple’s photographs. It’s always a special moment, but this one felt especially personal.

Looking back through Angela and John’s photographs reminded us of what a wonderful day it had been, and we’re delighted to be able to share a few of our favourite moments with you.

Every wedding reminds us why we love what we do. But every so often, one reminds us just how lucky we are to combine family, friendship and photography all in one unforgettable day.

If you’re planning your own wedding and are looking for an award-winning North London wedding photographer, or you’re getting married at Broome Park Hotel or elsewhere in Kent, London or the surrounding counties, we’d love to hear about your plans.

We’d be honoured to tell your story too.
